This exhibit will be of eye-catching oil paintings and glass by local artists at the Bank of the Arts. .

26th Michelob Ultra Regatta
The Neuse Yacht Racing Association presents the 26th Michelob Ultra Regatta, sponsored by RA Jeffreys Distributing Company - Labor Day Weekend, 2010. Sailboat Racing on the Neuse! The 26th 2010 Michelob Ultra Regatta is a point to point sailboat race starting in the waters of the Neuse River outside Oriental, and finishing off Union Point. Registration in the regatta for participating yachts will cost $50.00; Tickets for the Oktoberfest-Beergarden after race social will be $15.00.

Tryon Palace Gardens Free First Sunday
The gardens of the Tryon Palace will be open to the public at no charge on the first Sunday of March through October 2010. Interior tours will be discounted.

Stanly-Spaight Duel Reenactment
Tour the New Bern Academy, enjoy a concert by the Tryon Palace Fife & Drum Corps, and step back in time to an era where a man's personal honor was his most cherished quality. Watch the spectacle of the September 5, 1802 Stanly-Spaight duel unfold before your eyes. In this historical reenactment of a duel between Nineteenth-century new Bern political rivals, costumed characters battle to protect their reputation. Tours available from 1 PM to 4 PM; performance at 4 PM, followed by the duel.

Movers & Shakers in the African American Community - Past and Present
As part of the Tryon Place Hisoric Sites & Gardens' African American lecture series, this panel discussion will be about dedication, commitment, role/potential image as a role model and encouragement. Guest speakers to be determined. The program will take place at 7 PM in the Tryon Place Visitor Center auditorium.

Bike MS: Historic New Bern Ride
This annual September event is coordinated by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Eastern Carolina Chapter. The event draws thousands of cyclists, volunteers, family members and fans to New Bern each fall.

ArtWalk Downtown New Bern
ArtWalk Downtown New Bern is sponsored by the Downtown Business Association and Craven Arts Council and features local art and artists, live music, and refreshments from 5-8 PM.

ArtWalk is designed to spotlight the City's high level of art-related businesses. Visitors can stroll along a six-block area of Middle, Craven, Pollock, and East and South Front Streets, where galleries and art stores remain open until 8 PM.

Demode Fashion Weekend
SEPTEMBER 10 - 6 PM Experience 18th century fashion with a modern twist! Attend a fashion show that showcases the latest 18th century fashion for all the classes.

SEPTEMBER 11 - 9 AM - 3:30 PM Learn about the clothing Governor Tryon and his family, friends, and servants would have worn. Visit the kitchen office to watch a busy gown maker and see family craft activities.

SEPTEMBER 11 - 1 PM Looking good has never been easy! Come to this light-hearted program and find out exactly what an 18th century lade (and her servants) would have to endure to keep her dressed in high fashion.

SEPTEMBER 12 - 2 PM This is a special lecture for the ladies. Enjoy tea and light treats while youlearn the truth and history on 18th century ladies undergarments.
